Pocket silhouette christmas gifts.

I thought I'd share this last post with you before i take a break for Christmas, these are two of the book marks which i have given as gifts this year, I stamped them using the pocket silhouette stamp set with old olive and bravo burgundy ink, I used a blender pen with the ink pads to colour the stamps as i haven't got all the markers yet, but as you can see it works just as well,

I used some of my retired pewter hodge podge and any one that knows me knows you have to be extra special for me to part with this, I stamped the image onto very vanilla card stock then lightly drew around the pieces of hodge podge i wanted to use and cut out the image, I then threaded the ribbon through the hodge podge and attached it with my brads, then I adhered the images to the reverse of the book mark, ( I used Bostic multi purpose adhesive as it dries clear and has a rubbery consistency which makes any excess easy to peel off the front of the hodge podge if you are a messy crafter like me) but you could use what ever you like. To finish when the glue had completely dried i used an emery board (nail file) to shave away any edges which were visible from the front,
I really like the way they turned out and as you can tell old olive and bravo burgundy are fast becoming two of my this seasons favourite colours. ( well they do match my tree)

Merry Christmas!!!

Uh oh!

Ok where to start the story.............   I was placing my su order...... then turned to hear arrrggghh and find my youngest with his head well and truly stuck in the potty chair,
this is the only non blurry photo i managed to get because i was laughing so hard, ( his hood is only up because the potty was cutting into his neck and was not the reason it took and hour to get him out!)
He was most upset with the situation and my hysterical laughter was not helping the situation, I called my husband at work but was laughing so hard he couldn't understand me, and thought someone had died,
I then had to contact the school to tell them i couldn't pick my eldest up and that my friend was going to meet him as i couldn't get youngest in the car seat due to the potty being stuck on his head.    ( as you can imagine i managed all the conversation quite normally until it came to explaining about the potty)  But thanks to my friend Trina  :)  normal service has been resumed, after me trying for an hour to squeeze and pull the potty off i decided it was time to get out the saw, but needed help to hold him still.........  Only trina has had experience of getting these off heads before and it turns out if you bear hug the potty chair it slides right off.  So A BIG THANK YOU goes out to trina!!!!!!!!

Hope it gave you all as good a laugh as i had!

This same son has also in the past week managed to smash our new television with a hair brush, colour our cream sofa in with a blue wax crayon and doodle all over the stair case with a ball point pen,  I thought things were meant to happen in threes not fours!  But we still love him ;0

A rose is a rose calendars

I just finished doing a few of these for teachers gifts and for some of my friends they are desk calendars perfect for their crafting spaces,
I love the small rose from the a rose is a rose stamp set,
I used bravo burgundy rose red, old olive and always artichoke ink with bravo burgundy and always artichoke card stock and coordinating gros grain ribbons.

They were great fun to make and were really simple to put together.

Thanks for looking

Thought i'd share this with you!

Stampin' Up! in the US has a works choir how cool would that be, what a cheerful way to celebrate christmas.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Last cards for the christmas season. Using Season of Joy

These are probably going to be the last christmas cards i post on here this christmas as hopefully by now most of you will already be starting to think about other aspects of christmas, like wrapping and presents, so here are my latest creations and they are all really quick to make.

These cards have a Handsome Hunter base with Real Red, Bravo Burgundy and Holiday Treasures designer series paper, I also used Handsome Hunter and Old Olive ink, I used the rock and roll technique on the tree and also Old Olive Gros Grain ribbon. The Gold card stock i used was non su but gives this project a little added lift along with some gold ink applied to the edges of the card stock.

This card has a whisper whites base, and uses designer paper from the designer series patterns pack which is available as a hostess gift in this years catalogue. I used real red ink and card stock, and whisper white gros grain ribbon., i also used some dazzlin' diamonds and the scallop edge punch.

both these projects use the Season of Joy stamp set.

Thanks for looking.

Have you checked out the crafty stamper challenge blog?

I try to keep it updated every week ( but of course it doesn't always happen on time)   and might give you some great inspiration for your Christmas makes,  just click on the link at the top on the right and check it out.

Colour challenges use the Stampin' Up! colour family names but you can you use any make in a similar colour.

Have fun and Merry Christmas!

T-shirt painting with Stampin' Up!

Thought I'd show you some fab t-shirts i stamped recently sorry they are a bit crumpled. :)

As we don't have the Stampin' Up! craft pads in the UK (yet ) I used Dylon fabric paint instead, I also used black stayz on too.

Remember to cover your surfaces and put cardboard behind the fabric you are stamping so as to not go through all the layers onto the back of the garment.

I mixed the fabric paints to get the colours i wanted in an old plastic tub using regular paint brushes, I did try putting the stamp into the fabric paint as if i was stamping normally but this was a bit messy and put too much paint on the stamp,

So to get a nice clean image i found it was better to paint the stamp instead with a paint brush,

Make sure that the fabric is pulled flat before you put your stamp down, then apply an even pressure to the rubber stamp, don't wiggle it! remove the stamp and allow the fabric paint to dry,

When the fabric paint is dry you can add other colours or designs to finish your garment/ project, when you're finished and it's all dry iron the design using a scratch cloth/old pillow case on a hot heat and your all done.

It was great fun and i really like the finished t-shirt's (even if i should have ironed them before i took the photo)

I used Unfrogettable, The Big deal alphabet and the bundle of joy stamp sets for these projects.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you notes

Here's my notelet holder, I made it a Christmas thank you set as I know it's the one thing everyone will be needing in the coming weeks.

I used A4 card stock (which is slightly bigger than the US card stock) so had to adjust the measurements on the tutorial which i put a link to earlier in my blog. Also UK envelopes are slightly bigger than US ones so here's my adjustments:

I scored the A4 card stock horizontally at 14.6cm and again at 15.2cm I then flipped the card stock around and scored it vertically 16.4cm and 17cm

I used Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green, Old Olive and Whisper White card stock,
Chocolate Chip and Old Olive ink,
Chocolate Chip ribbon,
Holiday Treasures Designer Series paper,
Scallop circle punch, Hodge podge, Sponge dauber, Sticky strip.

I'm really pleased with the way it came out.

A very merry christmas!

I love this tree!! This card i had saved on the computer I've been so busy doing my Christmas cards i haven't had chance to do any thing else.

I used Whisper White and bashful blue card stock, with the tree or all seasons stamp set and the merry Christmas stamp from the best yet hostess stamp set. I used Bashful blue ink.

I used a 2way glue pen to add some dazzlin diamonds and it's just so pretty I've made a smaller version for my son's Christmas cards.
