Baby baby :)

I just wanted to share this with you ( hopefully the receiver of these won't mind me showing everyone) but I made these for one of my friends over at In love with stamping, her and her husband just had a beautiful baby girl, I've left it a little while to show everyone because I wanted them to be a surprise for her.

I used some plain white baby vests and some white muslin's and my A Rose is a Rose stamp set, as we don't have craft ink pads in the UK (yet fingers crossed they won't leave it too long to let us have them) I used Dylon fabric paints which i had to mix to get the desired colours, I then painted the fabric paint onto the stamps with a brush.

It was really good fun, if you click on the picture you should be able to see in more detail, I even used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the layers of the flowers........... and as you can tell I was really pleased with the way they turned out.

I have added more tutorials to the tutorial site so go check them out I'll be uploading one on how to stamp fabric soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Funky Friday #5

I couldn't decide which way around this card should go, so I didn't put a sentiment on it, I think I prefer it horizontally, this was made for the Funky Friday challenge which I have on my challenge blog every week if you'd like to join in click here

This week I chose a picture with lots of colours, bright and cheerful as it's been a bit grey here in Cornwall recently. The challenge said you could use as many but no less than 3 colours (I used all of them) :)

I used Seeing Spots and the circles from the Pick a Petal stamp set, I also used my scallop edge punch and whisper white ribbon.

The colours were these:
Rose Red, Regal Rose, Whisper White, Only Orange, Yo yo Yellow, Certainly Celery, Green Galore, Brilliant Blue and Tempting Turquoise.

Thanks for looking!

Just love the colours

I just loved the colours in kristina's colour challenge this week so when i sat down to make a thank you card this morning this is what i came up with, really simple, and clean lines.

These colours just make me think of autumn.

I used Old olive instead of kiwi kiss as we don't have that in the UK but all other colours are as in the challenge.
I used the hostess set a little bit of happiness.

18 Feb 2009

Flower Power!

Kwerner #42
Colours are as stated above except the kiwi kiss ( we don't have that in the UK yet) so i used Old Olive instead, above i used the Bloomin' with Beauty stamp set,
and for this card i thought I'd try out some of the chipboard I've had for a while and haven't used, ( I had a slight accident with the card between finishing it and taking the photo so i had to peel everything off and accidentally bent the flower sorry about that.) But it was fun trying new things.

Kwerner challenge #41

I know i said i  was n't going to post anything today but  today has gone a bit too smoothly....that was until i realised i had forgotten to make a wedding card for my friends that are getting married on Saturday, so i checked my emails and saw that Kristina had posted challenge #41 which just happened to be the same colours my friend is having so i thought i should post it for you all to see.

We don't have riding hood red here in the UK so I substituted it with Rose Red but all the other colours are as stated above.

I used my scallop border punch, My three for you flower punch  and my paper piercing tool from the craters tool kit.

I used the sale-a-bration set congrats inside and out  and also some glossy accents for the centre of the flowers and the heart.

Thanks for stopping by!!

My stamp-a-ma-jig tutorial

This is a really short tutorial especially for those of you that have asked me how I get the shading on the roses (two step stampin') and what a stamp-a-ma-jig is.  It's so easy you can even use it to stamp fabric (as shown on the tutorials page).

I won't be posting anything on my blog tomorrow but i didn't want to deprive you all of listening to my lovely voice.

Remember to turn the volume down on the music at the bottom  of my site so you can hear me :)
This is one of the last tutorials i am going to post on the main Cornwall Crafty Stamper site so remember to check out the tutorials page for more fun stuff, i promise i get better with practice

A card for Grandpa

I always struggle with men's cards and my father in law is no exception in fact i think it's worse so while i was blog hopping i came across this card made by Angela at the paper gourmet and loved it,

so mine is a bit simpler than hers but it was for a man! My kids helped decorate the cupcake with sequin sprinkles ( it's amazing how messy that can get!)

I used Whisper white card stock as the base ( one A4 sheet folded length ways)

The Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set, and the Big Deal Alphabet,

With bold brights inks: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Gable Green, Glorious Green, Lovely Lilac, Brilliant Blue and Only Orange,

I water coloured the cupcake then applied glossy accents and the kids added the sprinkles, everything is mounted on dimensionals.

Thanks for looking :)

Stampers 10 Starting soon !

What's a Stampers 10 and what's a virtual hostess club?

well it's a great way to work through your wish list by spreading the cost monthly,

A Stampers 10 group is for any one who would like to spread the cost of your stampin' supplies and earn free hostess benefits and also attend exclusive classes in st austell if you're in the area.

A virtual hostess club means you can live any where in the UK ( yes that includes Northern Ireland ) and still be a hostess and receive all the same benefits with classes held on line with your own community to get to know the rest of the group.

joining either of these clubs gives you exclusive classes, an exclusive members only tutorial blog, and FREE Stampin' Up! products,

In these Club there are: -
*10 Members

*The Club runs for 10 months, starting when the club is full

*Each member agrees to spend a minimum of £15.00 per month (£3.75 a week) on products from the fantastic UK Stampin' Up! catalogue before postage.

*Each month a different club member is chosen to be hostess

*You do not actually have to host a workshop, it is like having a virtual party, every one places their orders and the host receives their free benefits

*When it's your turn to be hostess you are guaranteed to receive  at least £25 to spend in the catalogue either in the exclusive hostess area or on what ever you like in the catalogue,

*You get a FREE copy of the idea book and catalogue and any additional mini catalogues which are released.

* Exclusive monthly stamp classes if you're local and a members only tutorial blog with projects for your eyes only for the virtual hostess club.

*Small surprise gifts in your parcel each month.

* A chance to win even more free stash at the end of the year

Stampers 6

A Stampers 6 runs exactly the same as a stampers 10/ vitual hostess club only with 6 members each member would need to place a minimum order of £25 plus postage every month for 6 months, and one of those months would have the opportunity to act as virtual hostess and earn the relevant free benefits.

So what are you waiting for, for more information contact me. space is limited so reserve your space now!

Look forward to hearing from you.

Forever Flowers

OK here's something you don't see on my blog very often a stamp that's not from Stampin' Up!, I inherited this from one of my friends recently and i think it's just so cute I love the forever Friends bears, so i decided to take part in the Forever friends challenge here which was to make a valentine ......

So i teamed it with some fantastic Stampin' Up! card stock, I used Rose Red, Always Artichoke and Whisper White card stock, I stamped the image with stayz on and I used Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Creamy Caramel and Regal Rose ink with my aqua painter to colour the image.

I did some faux stitching with my crafters tool kit and used my white signo gel pen to create the stitches,

The flowers on the background are stamps from the Botanical Blooms sale-a-bration stamp set which you can get FREE if you spend £45 with Stampin' Up! before the 28th February, (I stamped tone on tone with Rose Red ink)

I decided not to put a sentiment on this card I just loved the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Prety in Pink.

Just a quick post for today,

I made this a little while ago, I used Stampin' Up! One of a Kind stamp set with the co-ordinating flower punch Boho Blossoms, in pretty in pink ink on Whisper white card stock and the polka dot background stamp tone on tone on pretty in pink. I also used the scallop edge punch ( I love that punch!! you can never have too many scallops!) twinned with whisper white taffeta ribbon.

Very girly i think but i like it none the less.

secret crafter saturday challenge "Recycling"

this weeks challenge was to use at least one recycled object on your card... well that wasn't a problem for me I'm a bit of a hoarder and have lots of "junk" to choose from.
I finally narrowed it down to the pretty box my slippers came in at Christmas (the grey card with the stars on it) which is lilac on the reverse, Some lilac ribbon ( which i am pretty sure was from the ribbon originals set fairytale) which was on a present i received as well and some great little buttons which i think probably came of one of my Gran's cardigans,

all put together with some lavender lace card stock and the starring you stamp set I also used the large star punch.

It was fun now i need to tidy up all the junk i got out finding these bits it's amazing how much you "might need".

If you want to join in visit the Saturday challenge site here

Funky Friday! #3

After realising REALLY late that i had totally lost a day in my week and that my kids were in danger of being dropped at school on a Saturday morning..... I posted the Funky Friday challenge over on Cornwall Crafty Stamper Challenges. If you'd like to join in just click the challenge link at the top of this blog.

So here is my entry (which i am quite pleased with) I used a technique called emboss resist to create the back ground, which i applied Night of Navy to with my brayer and i just love how it turned out ( you might see quite a bit more of this technique )

Stamp sets: A rose is a rose, Summer by the sea and a level one hostess set best yet.
Card stock: Very Vanilla, Bordering Blue, Taken with Teal,
Accessories: Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon, white embossing powder.
Ink: Night of Navy, Taken with Teal, More Mustard, Bordering Blue, Versa Mark,
Tools: Aqua painter, Brayer, Heat tool.

Don't forget to turn the volume on the music down at the bottom of this page before you watch or you won't be able to hear me ;)  (thanks carolynne for pointing that out)

Be kind people this is my very first attempt at a video tutorial, I felt so self concious talking to myself ( not that that's anything new) but i'll get better with practice. Hope you like it.

I'll be posting more tutorials soon on my Tutorial page so stay tuned,

If there is something you would like to know how to do or a project you've seen on my blog that you'd like more information about please drop me a line and i'll see what i can do.

Kwerner challenge #40 2nd try

I really wanted to use this designer series paper from the Summer Picnic paper pack and just thought I'd make it up as i went along i didn't really have a plan but decided the paper looked quite masculine so didn't want the card to look too frilly or feminine, and i quite like the result.

I used Loads of love accessories and the two tag punches.

If you like challenges and would like to join in with the Kwerner challenges go here

Don't forget tomorrow is Funky Friday!! come back and check out my NEW challenge on my challenge blog!! (ooops i lost a day somewhere didn't realise it was already friday sorry it's up now)

Kwerner challenge #40

This weeks challenge was to use the colours above, I started by using my True Friend stamp set but had a slight accident with my flowers so decided to use the large flower from One of kind instead.
The buttons were from my collection, i used my swirly cuttlebug embossing folder and a sponge dauber with more mustard ink to add depth to the swirls.
I think it came out ok, just proves there are no mistakes in crafting just a creative change of direction.

If you'd like to join in with the challenges go here

Multi purpose valentine challenge ;)

The scs "Rubber Bomshells" have been given the challenge this month to make a valentine with non traditional valentine colours, at the same time I was also asked for help from my friend Lyn who wanted to make an appropriate card for her ;) Friend who plays pool so I combined the two challenges. ( I think I'm fairly safe that he won't see it i doubt he checks out rubber stamping blogs very often lol)

I used Chocolate Chip, Basic Black, Garden Green and Kraft card stocks and punched the balls out of some scraps i had hanging around.  I used my circle punch to make the pockets, It was a really quick card to do and it was fun, Now I just have to make a card for my dh but I really don't know what to do for it.

Thanks for looking.

Mojo Monday 72 contest

I had a go at this sketch twice as I liked the first attempt so much I wanted to do it in another colour, above I used Bashful Blue, Basic Black, whisper white, Ruby Red and Pumpkin pie card stock which coordinates with the summer picnic designer paper which I used,  I also used Old Olive ribbon and the scallop circle punch.

The images are from the Botanical blooms sale-a-bration stamp set which I coloured using an aqua painter with Old Olive, Ruby Red, Pumpkin pie, sage shadow markers I then used glossy accents on the image,
For this card I used Tea and Crumpets designer series paper with Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Kraft and Whisper White card stock and Very Vanilla ribbon,
Markers: Barely Banana, Apricot Appeal, Blush Blossom, Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke.
I used white embossing powder for the sentiment and the image and the butterflies are again cover with glossy accents.

For the scallops I used my Scallop edge punch and my handheld fiskars punch for the holes.

Thanks for stopping by.

SCSC at the zoo

This week the secret crafter saturday challenge was at the zoo so I didn't just make one card I did a whole lot, I used a one sheet wonder pattern, I actually had 5 more cards than this from the pattern but I couldn't fit them all in the photo.

I used the Stampin' Up! Wild About You stamp set, with the Earth Elements inks, I used a mixture of card stock colours, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Kraft, Going Grey, Really Rust and Bordering Blue. One sheet wonders are a really great way of making lots of cards in a short space of time ( I think these only took me less than an hour to do 16 which I think is pretty good going) If you'd like to know more about osw ( one sheet wonders) drop me a line and i'll let you know when the next osw class is

If you'd like to join in with the challenges go here

Stampin' Up! Pocket Silhouettes

I used Stampin' write markers to colour the image and then huffed on it, I used pocket silhouettes and the sentiment was from Simply Said. I used one of the pocket silhouette stamps to create the background with rose red ink.

I used the scallop edge punch and the scallop circle punch i also used my corner rounder for the corners on the sentiment.

It's a nice bright card for a week which has given us more snow than we've had in the UK in nearly 20 years!!

Thanks fro looking!

Stampin' Up! Carte Postale

This card was inspired by a card in the current us Stampin' Up! catalogue which i fell in love with... and why not it's my favourite colour combination!

For my card i used the carte postale stamp set although the tone on tone bashful blue doesn't show up so well in this photo.

I used Sincere salutations with chocolate chip ink, chocolate chip card stock
Bashful blue ink, taffeta ribbon and card stock,
Kraft designer series paper from the hostess gifts and naturals ivory card stock and of course my lovely scallop edge punch.

I think it makes a lovely male card as i as so many others really struggle with men's cards but i think it would do quite nicely for male or female.

Thanks for looking.

One of a kind

I made this small gift box and matching card this week, I used Stampin' Up! One of a kind stamp set which i've been putting off for ages now but finally gave in.

I used whisper white card stock with Pretty in Pink and Rose Red card stock.

I used Rose Red and Pretty in Pink markers to ink the stamps and then used the coordinating Boho Blossom punch to cut out the smaller flowers. To scallop the edges i used my corner rounder with the guard taken off.

Thanks for looking.
