My challenge card

Here is my entry for this weeks Funky Friday challenge,

I had to do a close up just to prove i did use orchid opulence :)
Any how so here is my card, I used whisper white ribbon which I coloured with my really rust stampin pad,
I used my a rose is a rose stamp set, and some Washington apple designer series paper.

I folded the designer paper at the bottom of the card into pleats and added some colour with a sponge dauber for a little more depth,

so I admit I found this one was a little tricky to use all the colours, but then it wouldn't be called a challenge if it was really easy now would it?

Thanks for stopping by!

Chocolate goth girl

Just to prove I do use other makes of stamps :) here is my chocolate goth girl, I made this chocoate wrapper and card set for one of my best friends birthday's!!! she was 21 again yesterday :)There was a hidden message behind the front panel with a birthday message on it,
I used:
Stampin' Up! Card stock in Very Vanilla, Kraft and Close to Cocoa,
Stampin' Up! Kraft ribbon, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Blush Blossom and regal Rose inks
Stampin' Up! Crazy for cupcakes stamp set and the jumbo watercolour vine roller,
and of course my lovely little sugarnellie goth girl who I water coloured using my aqua painter and su inks.

( thanks to my down line kathy for the chocolate inspiration! )

I really love the way it turned out and didn't really want to give it away in the end, but I like my friends birthday cards to be individual and I don't like making more than one so they are unique just like my friends.

Happy birthday shelley!
Love
Abi :)

Top 10 resons to stamp!

I got sent a link recently by someone for a funny post on a website and I thought I'd share it with you all because it made me laugh.

If you'd like to see the original post on Sonia's website go here

here are my Top ten reasons to buy rubber stamps:

  1. It helps keep the economy going. It is our duty to support rubber farmers, lumber mills, rubber stamp shops and catalog order dealers.
  2. It is less expensive and more fun than psychiatric care.
  3. I'm participating in a contest - The one who dies with the most rubber stamps wins.
  4. They keep without refrigeration, you don't have to cook them to enjoy them, you don't have to feed them, change them, wipe their noses or walk them.
  5. Because stamping is Fun!.
  6. When the Big Earthquake comes, all the rubber stamp shops might be swallowed into the ground and never be seen again.
  7. It's less harmful, healthier and cheaper than alcohol and drugs but just as addictive,
  8. It's not fattening. It calms the nerves, gratifies the soul, and makes me feel good.
  9. Buy rubber stamps now, before your husband retires and goes with you on all your shopping expeditions.
  10. Because we're worth it :)

Happy Stamping!!!

Chocolate everywhere

I actually made this for a design team entry but then realised I had missed the closing date so I'm posting any way just because I like how it came out and it's one of my favourite colour combinations so it'd be a shame not to share it.

I used Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Tempting Turquoise and some Soft Sky ( not available in the UK sorry) which I had left over.

I used the Soft summer stamp set with the en francais background stamp, I also used the scallop edge punch.

Thanks for looking.
